Aikang Medical has launched the AiTAR total ankle replacement system, China's first metal 3D-printed ankle prosthesis, ushering in the commercialization era of 3D-printed small joint replacements in China. Since 2009, the company has been investing in metal 3D printing and obtained China's first registration certificate for a metal 3D-printed implant in 2015. It operates the largest additive manufacturing base for orthopedic implants in the Asia-Pacific region, with a unique trabecular-like porous structure that effectively promotes bone ingrowth and reduces the risk of implant loosening. In the future, Aikang will introduce a series of metal 3D-printed products for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and finger joints, building a comprehensive small joint product matrix and driving the transformation of small joint replacements toward precision, personalization, and bio-integration.
