Commercially pure titanium (CP-Ti) is often confused with Ti-6Al-4V: platform quotes for both sit in the 200 CNY/kg class, but CP-Ti contains no aluminum or vanadium, giving better biocompatibility and corrosion resistance at one strength grade lower. It is the AM base material for medical implants and chemical corrosion-resistant parts. CP-Ti is divided into Grades 1-4 (TA1-TA4) by interstitial content — the purer the grade, the better the ductility and the lower the strength. Product forms also include nano-scale pure titanium powder for MIM feedstock and specialty coatings. For medical applications always require biocompatibility reports and batch traceability documents, and confirm interstitial (Fe/O/C) measurements by grade.
