On September 3, 2026, Jiangsu Chromium Laibo Digital Technology simultaneously broke ground on two new factories in Huzhou Changxing and Yancheng. The Changxing site spans nearly 50 mu (33,000 m²) and integrates R&D, production, warehousing, sales, and after-sales services. The Yancheng facility covers nearly 10,000 m² and will focus on scaling up the serial production capacity of industrial-grade metal 3D printing systems and fiber lasers. The company develops its own industrial SLM equipment and software, and operates across both industrial and consumer market segments. Prior to this, it already ran two equipment manufacturing bases in Yancheng and Changde, plus four printing service centers spanning roughly 20,000 m² and holding more than 180 patents. The expansion of equipment manufacturing capacity is expected to drive greater demand for metal powder parameter validation and consumables procurement. Key implications for powder buyers: (1) Chromium Laibo's capacity build-out for industrial SLM machines and fiber lasers will raise installed equipment counts, leading to higher powder consumption; (2) The new plants will generate additional demand for powder parameter validation, giving powder suppliers a chance to secure associated qualification orders; (3) As the 'dual-base' capacity race among domestic metal AM equipment makers heats up, opportunities for closer equipment–powder ecosystem partnerships will grow.
