On September 2, 2026, the Department of Science and Technology of Anhui Province issued the "2026 Notice on the Approval of Anhui Province Artificial Intelligence Scenario Innovation Projects (AI-Empowered Scientific Research Direction)" (Wanke Zhineng Mi [2026] No. 232), approving five projects. Among them, the project "AI4S-Empowered R&D and Industrial Demonstration of High-Performance Alloy Powders for Additive Manufacturing" received funding of ¥4.4712 million. The project was initiated by Anhui Zhongti New Material Technology Co., Ltd. as the lead enterprise, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (as the lead institution) collaborating with Anhui Polytechnic University, Shanghai Dianji University, and Shanghai Opextong Instruments to undertake the research. The project is based in Chuzhou City. This initiative establishes a collaborative "AI + alloy powder" industry-academia-research model that combines provincial-level fiscal funding, leading enterprise project solicitation, and university research participation. Value for powder purchasers: ① AI accelerates powder composition design and process optimization, shortening the R&D cycle for high-performance alloy powders and speeding up new product launches; ② University-enterprise joint research on alloy powder formulations will increase the number of domestically produced high-performance powder grades; ③ The approval of this AI4S project signals stronger provincial and municipal policy support for "AI + powder," enhancing the technological premium and procurement competitiveness of related companies.
