German engineering software company Synera has combined its low-code platform with AI agents, connecting over 80 CAD/CAE/CAM/PLM tools to automate tasks such as design optimization, lattice generation, and print preparation into streamlined pipelines, claiming DfAM workflows are 10 times faster than manual methods. In 2025, it partnered with Materialise to integrate the Magics SDK, enabling automatic file repair, support generation, and slicing for print preparation, with design outputs directly linking to nesting and job setup. A collaboration with PanOptimization integrated thermal simulation to predict part deformation and recoater interference before printing. The platform is deployed on-premises and holds TISAX Level 2 certification for automotive information security, with clients including BMW, Airbus, Volkswagen, and Volvo Trucks. Synera is advancing agentic AI as a standard tool for product development, directly impacting automation levels in additive manufacturing design and print preparation.
