Velo3D held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Forge 1 production campus in Livermore, California, attended by customers, partners, suppliers, investors, and local officials. Spanning 289,000 square feet, the campus includes 270,000 square feet of manufacturing space (with ceiling heights exceeding 36 feet), initially operating over 40 metal 3D printers and scalable to more than 100 units in the future. The Fremont headquarters will continue to focus on R&D and qualification, while Forge 1 is dedicated to serial production, with both sites covering the full lifecycle of aerospace and defense application development. Recent contracts include a $32.6 million U.S. Department of Defense contract for additive manufacturing prototyping and qualification, a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center, and a $11.5 million multi-year production contract with a major U.S. defense prime contractor.
