The Equipment Industry Development Center of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released the 2026 exemplary case studies on industrial machine innovations, with 147 projects selected. Among them, 16 additive manufacturing systems were recognized as innovative products. Regionally, Xi’an leads with three companies selected, followed by Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, and Hunan (two each), and Shanghai, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Guangdong, and Anhui (one each). This shift signals growing metal powder demand toward larger particle sizes and higher precision, particularly for ultra-large-format flight printing and green laser processes. The inclusion of companies such as BLT, Farsoon Technologies, and AMC Powders confirms the accelerating adoption of domestic metal 3D printing equipment in high-end applications like aerospace and medical devices.
