U.S. additive manufacturing jet engine manufacturer Beehive has invested $50 million to purchase 30 EOS M4 ONYX metal 3D printing systems, representing the largest publicly announced single order in EOS history. The equipment will be deployed over the next 12 months at its facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Centennial, Colorado, increasing the company's total EOS systems to 50 and more than doubling its production capacity. This investment follows the successful high-altitude testing of the Frenzy 8 engine and a recent $29 million U.S. Air Force contract. Its engines are specifically designed for swarm drones and next-generation unmanned systems; the EOS M4 ONYX was selected for its ability to meet throughput, process stability, automation, and part quality requirements.
