The China Materials and Testing Standards Committee’s Comprehensive Standards Subcommittee held a project evaluation meeting in Beijing for the group standard "Metal Powder Classification." The meeting was chaired by senior engineer Wang Limin from the Zhongguancun Materials Testing Technology Alliance, with five evaluation experts from North Mining New Materials, Youyan Additive Manufacturing, Beijing Powder Metallurgy Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Antai (Bazhou) Specialty Powder attending. Over 10 participants from the standard drafting units, including Beijing University of Science and Technology and the former Central Iron and Steel Research Institute, were present. The expert panel reviewed the report from the standard applicant, addressing the necessity and feasibility of the standard, domestic and international standards landscape, and project application prospects. The standard passed the project evaluation unanimously. It aims to establish a unified classification framework, segment application areas, achieve premium pricing for high-quality products, facilitate communication between metal powder production and sales sectors, and expand overseas promotion through internationalization of the standard.
