The International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) and Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bridge the gap from lab to industrial application in additive manufacturing and surface engineering through a government-owned, enterprise-operated model. The collaboration focuses on aerospace, defense, and energy sectors, with emphasis on developing 3D-printed metal components, high-performance alloys, laser surface treatment, and precision machining. The partners will conduct joint R&D, perform technology validation, and create intellectual property, leveraging ARCI's world-class research facilities and Raghu Vamsi's industrial manufacturing capabilities to accelerate innovation from lab to factory. The goal is to build a scalable indigenous technology ecosystem, reduce India's dependence on imported high-performance engineering components, enhance global competitiveness, and flexibly expand into emerging technology areas as strategic needs evolve.
