Shanghai's commercial aerospace sector took a critical step forward on April 30 with the establishment of Shanghai Commercial Aerospace Offshore Launch Technology Co., Ltd., registered with a capital of 1.1 billion yuan. Shareholders include YuanXin Satellite, China Offshore Marine Equipment, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Commercial Rocket Company, Xinzhuang Industrial Zone, and Shanghai Guosheng, spanning five dimensions: satellite operations, marine equipment, rocket manufacturing, industrial park development, and capital operations. YuanXin Satellite, as the operator of the 'Thousand Sails Constellation,' has already launched 126 networking satellites and signed agreements with Airbus to expand airborne broadband services. On the policy front, Shanghai aims to achieve a commercial aerospace industry scale of 100 billion yuan by 2027, with an annual production capacity of 100 rockets and 1,000 satellites. This initiative will accelerate breakthroughs in reusable rockets and offshore launch technologies. For the metal 3D printing industry, the serial production of rocket engines and structural components will drive mass demand for high-performance metal powders and additive manufacturing processes, fostering deep chain-wide collaboration.
