A team from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg has established for the first time the process window for electron beam powder bed fusion of eutectic NiAl-(Cr,Mo) alloys. The study found that adjusting process parameters enables control over the size and coarsening degree of the (Cr,Mo) phase, achieving a texture-free, fine-grained microstructure. This research provides a new pathway for optimizing the mechanical properties of such high-temperature alloys.
