Abu Dhabi-based AI advanced manufacturing company Sindan and Dubai-based computational engineering firm LEAP 71 announced a strategic partnership at the 'Made in UAE' exhibition on May 4th to jointly develop and produce air-breathing jet engines and space propulsion systems. The collaboration integrates LEAP 71's Noyron large-scale computational engineering model with Sindan's manufacturing infrastructure, which includes over 40 large metal additive manufacturing systems, more than 300 polymer manufacturing systems, and advanced CNC machining capabilities. Noyron encodes first-principles physics, engineering logic, and manufacturing constraints into deterministic models, directly generating producible designs from specifications. It has already been used to develop and hot-fire test multiple liquid propellant rocket engines, including a liquid methane engine with over 20 kN thrust, from concept to test in just weeks. The partners aim to move directly from computational design to volume production, bypassing traditional aerospace iterative cycles. This collaboration demonstrates how AI-driven design combined with metal 3D printing can drastically shorten aerospace system development timelines, and for the metal powder industry, it signals accelerating demand for high-performance, printable metal materials, pushing additive manufacturing from prototyping toward scaled production.
