Organized jointly by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Wuxi Institute of Inspection, Testing and Certification, the first draft seminar for the aerospace industry standard "Additive Manufacturing – Design Guide for Aerospace Components Based on Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF)" was held in Wuxi. The meeting responded to the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's 2025 third batch of industry standard revision project plan, aiming to standardize additive manufacturing design methods for aerospace components, fully leverage the high design freedom of additive manufacturing, improve the first-pass yield of component forming, and shorten product development cycles. Participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on lightweight design methods such as topology optimization and lattice structures, as well as process constraints including minimum overhang angles and support structures in additive manufacturing, addressing the development needs of next-generation aerospace equipment for long endurance, high load capacity, and high maneuverability.
