The Guangdong Additive Manufacturing Association has released three group standards for metal additive manufacturing: T/GAMA 40—2026 'Additive Manufacturing – Process Specification for Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Built-in Gas Cylinder Tip-Over Prevention Safety Devices', T/GAMA 41—2026 'Additive Manufacturing – Specification for Testing Procedures of Powder Usability in Laser Powder Bed Fusion', and T/GAMA 42—2026 'Additive Manufacturing – Repair Process for Laser Directed Energy Deposition of Complex Components'. These standards were jointly drafted by more than ten organizations, including Guangzhou Leijia Additive Manufacturing, South China University of Technology, and the Guangdong Additive Manufacturing Association, and will take effect on June 10, 2026. Notably, T/GAMA 41—2026 specifies testing procedures for the usability of metal powders used in laser powder bed fusion technology, covering powder performance testing, process testing, part performance testing, and safety protection requirements. The initiative aims to establish a unified and scientific powder quality evaluation system, regulate the market, improve the consistency and reliability of additive manufacturing parts, and guide the collaborative development of the entire industry chain and high-quality advancement of the sector.
