Indian space startup Agnikul has successfully completed a synchronized cluster firing test of four semi-cryogenic rocket engines. Conducted at 'Rocket Factory One' in Chennai, it marks India's first such test of a semi-cryogenic propulsion system. The four Agnilet engines were integrally manufactured using 3D-printing technology, powered by liquid oxygen and aviation kerosene, and fed by motor-driven turbopumps. The technical core involved calibrating eight pumps, eight motors, and eight speed control algorithms to ensure precise synchronization during startup, steady-state operation, and shutdown phases. This test represents a key propulsion system validation for Agnikul's small-lift launch vehicle Agnibaan, aimed at providing low-cost, flexible launch services for small satellites.
