The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is establishing a highly efficient collaborative innovation network that directly connects basic research with industrial applications. Leveraging key hubs such as Beijing's Three Science Cities and One Advanced Zone, Tianjin Binhai New Area, and Hebei Xiong'an New Area, and supported by mechanisms like the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Natural Science Foundation Joint Special Project, the initiative guides top research teams from the three regions to jointly tackle challenges in key industrial sectors. The special project adopts a 'five unified' management model, funding 277 collaborative projects and fostering close cooperation among over 700 research teams. Notable outcomes include Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications' world-first 'Beidou + 5G indoor distribution' multi-source fusion positioning technology, tested in over 2 million square meters of underground space in Xiong'an; and Beijing Institute of Technology's team achieving industrial-scale pilot production of large metal lattice structure 3D printing technology in Tianjin Binhai. Through substantial financial support and open application scenarios, this mechanism effectively builds a 'bridge' from lab to production line, enabling the deployment of new materials such as high-performance 3D-printed components.
