China Southern Airlines' Guizhou Aircraft Maintenance Plant has successfully built a digital manufacturing laboratory platform that integrates CNC (computer numerical control) engraving and 3D printing through independent innovation. The platform combines 'subtractive manufacturing' and 'additive manufacturing' technologies. In tool management, the team uses CNC engraving to create customized embedded storage molds for various maintenance tools, enabling standardized and visual tool storage, significantly improving work efficiency and on-site management. In training and teaching, 3D printing is used to rapidly produce physical cross-section models of complex components such as engines, allowing new employees to intuitively understand internal structures, solving the problem of abstract and difficult traditional training. This innovation demonstrates the practical value of additive and subtractive manufacturing technologies in aviation maintenance support, providing new ideas for enhancing civil aviation safety operation capabilities.
