The China Welding Association has officially released the group standard 'Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing of Metal Parts' (T/CWAN 0169-2026), which will take effect on July 1, 2026. Led by Nanjing Inigma Industrial Automation Technology Co., Ltd., the standard was jointly drafted by 16 institutions including Xi'an Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Technology, and Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Focusing on laser-directed energy deposition, arc-directed energy deposition, and electron beam-directed energy deposition technologies for metal parts, this standard fills the gaps in China's additive manufacturing standards for directed deposition processes and aspects of 'personnel, machinery, materials, methods, and environment.' After implementation, it will provide scientific guidance for pre-production qualification and batch production of metal parts processing, enabling rapid design, rapid manufacturing, rapid verification, and precise quality control of metal components, thereby improving the development efficiency and production quality of complex structures and critical components.
