On October 13, the Guangzhou Liwan District Market Supervision Administration announced the results of public consultation on the "Liwan District Guidelines for the Development of a Standards System for the Laser and Additive Manufacturing Equipment Industry (Draft for Comments)": no revision suggestions were received during the public notice period from September 18 to 28. The guidelines implement the "National Standardization Development Outline" and the "New Industry Standardization Leading Project Implementation Plan (2023–2035)", aiming to use standards to lead the high-quality development of Liwan District's laser and additive manufacturing equipment industry. During the drafting period, standards urgently needed in key laser and additive manufacturing fields were also solicited, and a regional standards list will subsequently be formed and gradually implemented. Value to powder buyers: ① The development of the equipment standards system will cascade downstream, promoting standardization of metal powder quality grading, testing methods, and acceptance specifications; ② Regional standards often precede industry/national standards, so powder companies should benchmark against them in advance; ③ Pay attention to the subsequent standards list to assess compliance requirements for powder grades, batch consistency, and testing.
