On October 10, Shanghai UnionTech released the Quick AI process agent platform, embedding AI capabilities into industrial 3D printing manufacturing workflows—another move by a domestic equipment manufacturer in the 'AI + additive manufacturing' direction. Quick AI allows process engineers to build their own process agents, turning experience from past projects—such as material selection, placement strategies, support design, and parameter tuning—into reusable knowledge. Proposal preparation time can be compressed from several hours to just a few minutes, and project experience is continuously transformed into enterprise capability as it accumulates. The widespread adoption of process agents on the equipment side will lower the barriers to entry for metal 3D printing and accelerate process validation for small and medium-sized users, indirectly driving demand for metal powder trial production and volume purchases.
