Metal powder manufacturer Continuum has launched its Custom Casting Run-Time (CFR) service, granting manufacturers access to a dedicated atomization platform for rapid development of new alloys and small-batch production of specialty metal powders, eliminating the long lead times and minimum order quantities typical of traditional atomization services. Customers can utilize Continuum’s Greyhound Melt-to-Powder atomization platform for atomization testing and small-batch production of novel alloys. Continuum confirmed completion of its first CFR project in 2026, involving atomization of a precious metal-based alloy. The CFR service represents a complement to traditional atomization business models, shortening the commercialization chain for specialty alloy powders from formulation validation to small-batch application.
