Production equipment at the Qingdao Lizhi Medical Innovation Center has been installed and is undergoing commissioning, with production scheduled to begin by the end of October. The project is located in the Lugang Science and Technology Cooperation Innovation Center of the SCO Demonstration Zone and is being built by Lizhi Medical Technology. The project is organized into three major segments: medical devices, 3D printing additive manufacturing, and medical research and experimental development. It focuses on electron beam metal 3D printing (EBM) and high-end new metal materials. Once production begins, it will achieve batch output of metal powders, 3D-printed components, and precision metal machining products. The EBM process is known in the orthopedic implant field for its high vacuum and low residual stress, and its direct consumable is medical-grade spherical titanium powder (TC4 ELI). The startup of this center will create a definite incremental procurement demand for medical titanium powder in orthopedic applications and strengthen the medical additive manufacturing capacity of the Shandong Peninsula. Value for powder buyers: (1) After the EBM production line is commissioned, it will generate continuous procurement demand for TC4 ELI medical titanium powder, with high requirements for qualifications and batch traceability; (2) Medical powder orders have high profit margins but long validation cycles, so suppliers with ISO 13485-compliant systems are preferred; (3) Pay attention to its subsequent capacity ramp-up and powder supplier bidding.
