U.S. sustainable titanium powder producer IperionX achieved 24/7 continuous operation at its Virginia titanium powder production facility in Q1 2026, with all HAMR titanium powder production systems commissioned and entering the capacity ramp-up phase. The company produced approximately 4.2 metric tons in March, annualizing to about 50 metric tons, targeting a 200-ton-per-year run rate by end of 2026. It is developing the next-generation continuous HAMR platform, GenX, expected to increase output and reduce costs. The company uses a 100% recycled titanium feedstock in a 'scrap-to-powder' production model, has added a binder jet system, and installed a 300-ton six-axis SACMI press. Qualification of spherical titanium powder for consumer electronics is progressing, while trial manufacturing for aerospace, defense, and industrial markets is ongoing.
