UK startup Lasefinity has unveiled the FusionX, a desktop-class Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) system. With a build volume of 100×100×80 mm and a 500 W fiber laser (adjustable spot size 50–200 μm), the system integrates real-time sensors to monitor laser power, scan speed, chamber atmosphere, and powder spreading quality. Measuring just 600×650×860 mm, it features a sealed inert gas chamber (N₂/Ar) and a permanent filtration system with over 30,000 hours of lifespan. Early-bird pricing is £19,999 (regular £24,999), including a 12-month warranty and training. It supports stainless steels, titanium alloys, superalloys, and high-entropy alloys. The company also launched the WireX wire-based DED system at the same price, targeting university research and vocational education.
