On August 25, 2026, Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals Group's Xinlühang R&D, Pilot Testing, and Inspection Base, located in the Dongjiahe Circular Economy Industrial Park in Tongchuan, was fully completed with all equipment commissioned. The base houses a high-performance powder metallurgy aluminum-based powder pilot line, featuring 3D printing-specific aluminum alloy powder and spherical aluminum particles for smelting. The 3D printing aluminum alloy powder line boasts an annual capacity of 100 tons, targeting applications such as weight reduction in primary aerospace structural components, thereby bridging the pilot-scale transformation chain from powder metallurgy to additive manufacturing feedstock. Following Chalco, Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals has become another central state-owned nonferrous metals enterprise to enter the additive manufacturing powder sector, accelerating the formation of an aluminum-based additive powder industrial cluster in Tongchuan, Shaanxi. For powder buyers, this development offers several key advantages: (1) the 100-ton-scale aluminum powder pilot capacity, aimed at aerospace primary structural parts, represents a significant addition to domestic aviation-grade aluminum powder supply; (2) the entry of a central state-owned enterprise ensures more robust product certification systems and batch-to-batch consistency; (3) attention should be paid to its subsequent certification progress with aerospace OEMs and plans for commercial-scale production.
