German metal additive manufacturing leader EOS has formed a strategic partnership with metal powder supplier Constellium, adding Constellium's Aheadd CP1 to its materials portfolio under the name EOS Aluminium Constellium CP1, available from August. Meanwhile, EOS's TCT Award-winning Aluminium Al5X1 will be rebranded as EOS Aluminium Constellium Al5X1 and included in Constellium's alloy portfolio. CP1 is suitable for heat exchangers, semiconductor heat sinks, and lightweight structural parts under moderate loads, offering superior performance to AlSi10Mg with cost advantages. Al5X1 is a high-strength, high-elongation, anodizable aluminum alloy targeting aerospace, transportation, and motorsports. The partners emphasize that the collaboration extends beyond these two materials, aiming to establish a long-term framework for developing next-generation 3D printing aluminum alloys.
