Fabri, a U.S. startup building what it calls a 'digital foundry,' has closed a $13.5 million funding round led by Lockheed Martin Ventures and RTX Ventures. The company bypasses traditional mold-making in investment casting by 3D printing wax patterns, combining AI-driven design software and automated process control to compress lead times from months—or even two years—down to days. Current casting dimensions are limited to 7×13×15.75 inches, with materials including aluminum, copper, bronze, C71500, and various steels; the firm plans to expand into nickel-based superalloys (IN713C, Mar-M247). Fabri holds ITAR registration, CMMC Level 2 cybersecurity certification, and JCP Enhanced Validation. The U.S. Department of Defense has identified castings as among the top four national defense priorities, positioning foundries as the frontline of reindustrialization.
