The CRP Group of Italy, including CRP Meccanica and CRP Technology, is supporting the University of Modena team for the Formula SAE event in Michigan from May 13-16, 2026. The team ranked first globally in the internal combustion engine category as of January 2026 and will compete at this top position in Michigan for the first time. CRP Meccanica provides precision CNC machining and DMLS metal 3D printing using Scalmalloy aluminum and Ergal 7075 aerospace aluminum for components like steering supports and clutch levers. CRP Technology utilizes Windform carbon and glass fiber composites via SLS for aerodynamic parts such as front wings and shift paddles. The partnership began in 2024 and has evolved to the M26-LH race car. Upstream metal powders and composites are validated under high-load racing conditions, while downstream 3D printing combined with precision machining becomes critical for the student team to shorten development cycles.
