In additive manufacturing, Apple is collaborating with suppliers to increase the use of recycled aluminum, recycled stainless steel, and other materials in prototyping, tooling, fixtures, and even final part production. By 2025, approximately 30% of materials in products will come from recycled content, including 100% recycled cobalt in batteries, 100% recycled rare earth elements in magnets, and 100% recycled aerospace-grade titanium powder for titanium watch cases. This initiative sets a benchmark for green supply chain construction in consumer electronics and the broader high-end manufacturing industry, directly linking metal 3D printing to material consumption reduction and driving demand for recycled powders.
