On May 22, 2026, the Zhongke Yuhang Innovation Institute was officially inaugurated in Guangzhou's Huangpu District. Positioned as a cutting-edge innovation platform for commercial aerospace and the space economy, the institute is centered on space manufacturing as its core driver, with a strategic focus on three major directions: space manufacturing, reusable Earth-to-space transportation systems, and new propulsion products. Targeting future industries such as space biomedicine, high-end semiconductors, and advanced materials, the institute aims to build a full-chain capability for space manufacturing that ensures "access to space, production in space, return from space, and application on Earth." Zhongke Yuhang has established a comprehensive layout across Guangzhou: the Huangpu District focuses on frontier aerospace technology exploration, R&D, and manufacturing; the Nansha District rocket production base has an annual capacity to produce 30 solid-fuel rockets; and the Conghua District liquid propulsion test center is equipped with a 200-ton-class test stand and a 400-ton-class test bed. The planned Liqing series liquid engine production line will produce 300 engines annually, while the Lihong series launch vehicle batch production base will support high-frequency, low-cost space access needs. The development of space manufacturing capabilities will directly drive incremental demand for high-performance titanium alloys and superalloy powders in the aerospace components sector.
