On October 6, 2026, AXT, an Australian supplier of scientific instruments and additive manufacturing solutions, announced a distribution agreement with Israel's Tritone Technologies to distribute its metal and ceramic additive manufacturing solutions in Australia and New Zealand. Tritone's core technology is the patented MoldJet process: it prints temporary molds layer by layer, then fills them with high-density metal or ceramic paste, creating a powder-free manufacturing environment with materials handled in sealed cartridges. AXT will offer the high-throughput industrial system Dominant (6 independent build trays, throughput up to 1,600 cm³/h, post-sintering density up to 99%) and the development platform DIM. Applicable materials include stainless steel, tool steel, titanium alloys, copper alloys, and ceramics, targeting aerospace, defense, medical, dental, tooling, and industrial manufacturing. Richard Trett, Managing Director of AXT, stated that MoldJet's powder-free process offers a new option for organizations looking to move from prototyping to industrial metal mass production, thereby completing AXT's metal additive product line alongside Stratasys polymer solutions. Value for powder buyers: ① MoldJet uses metal paste rather than loose powder, so in the short term it does not directly replace LPBF powder purchases, but it will divert demand for small-batch complex metal parts; ② its stainless steel, tool steel, titanium, and copper alloy pastes still rely on atomized powder as raw material, and paste customization may create new opportunities for powder processing partnerships; ③ monitor the impact of Tritone's entry into Oceania via AXT on the competitive landscape for MIM and LPBF service providers.
