On August 24, 2026, according to Laser Manufacturing Network (via Qianlong News and Rizhao News), Hymson Laser established a wholly owned subsidiary, Hymson Additive (Guangzhou) Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., with registered capital of RMB 20 million. The legal representative is Chairman Zhao Shengyu. The new company's business scope covers additive manufacturing equipment manufacturing and sales, 3D printing base material sales, software development, and industrial design services. Reports highlight its strategy over the past 16 months of "investing downstream while building capabilities upstream": In May 2025, it initiated R&D on BST spatial light shaping technology; by May 2026, this technology had doubled additive manufacturing efficiency and completed commercial validation for titanium alloy processes; on August 4, the subsidiary was officially registered. Its compatibility testing and validation for mainstream metal powder systems, including titanium alloys and copper powder, has also been incorporated into its material sales strategy. In 2025, Hymson recorded revenue of RMB 4.217 billion with year-end orders on hand of RMB 12.3 billion. Value for powder buyers: ① As a leading laser equipment manufacturer, Hymson's entry into additive manufacturing will expand the installed base of domestic metal AM equipment, and its "3D printing base material sales" scope suggests the equipment maker may sell powders directly, intensifying channel competition; ② Powder suppliers can seek to become partners for its equipment consumables; ③ Amid the trend toward integrated equipment-plus-materials offerings, pure powder manufacturers need to strengthen their ties with equipment makers.
