Jioyu Jianmu Additive Technology (Wuxi) has initiated the environmental assessment for its 'Commercial Rocket Engine Parts 3D Printing Project.' The company is the first in China to apply Directed Energy Deposition (DED) multi-metal composite printing technology to rocket engines. Specializing in thrust chambers and high-temperature alloy structural components, the company has already served leading commercial aerospace clients including LandSpace, i-Space, and Tianbing Technology. In January 2026, it secured a Series A investment from Yihe Fund. The project is expected to employ between 50 and 300 people, with recent recruitment for 15 DED equipment operators. Commercial rocket engine components represent a high-value application for DED metal additive manufacturing. As China accelerates its commercial launch cadence, capacity building for metal printing in engine manufacturing is similarly ramping up. Value for powder buyers: ① The DED process consumes significant volumes of high-temperature alloys, titanium alloys, and copper alloy powders/wires, so project commissioning will generate new procurement demand. ② With established ties to top-tier commercial aerospace clients, entering this supply chain offers direct access to the commercial aerospace powder ecosystem. ③ As the project is still in the environmental assessment phase, there is time before production begins—early engagement for sample validation and tracking of capacity ramp-up is recommended.
