Finnish software company DeskArtes has released version 16.0 of 3Data Expert, a data preparation and process optimization tool for additive manufacturing. The new version is expected to feature enhancements in model repair, support generation, slicing algorithms, build layout, and parameter settings optimized for specific materials and processes. Notably, it improves support structures for titanium alloy dental frameworks—ensuring strong yet easily removable supports—and has been tested on the EOS M290 system. Quality control is also upgraded with a more intuitive interface. Such continuous iteration of software is critical for managing increasingly complex 3D printing tasks, improving print success rates, optimizing material usage, and enabling seamless digital manufacturing workflows. It represents key software infrastructure driving additive manufacturing from prototyping to serial production.
