During the 7th China Laboratory Development Conference (CLC2026), the 'Forum on Innovative Applications of Material Testing Technologies and Equipment' was successfully held at the Beijing National Convention Center. The forum brought together experts and scholars from top research institutes and leading industry enterprises to conduct in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as high-temperature and high-pressure environmental evaluation, additive manufacturing non-destructive characterization, fatigue testing technology, high-accelerated life testing, and extreme environment testing. Yao Bingnan, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Instrument and Control Society, noted that testing technology is transitioning from traditional single mechanical testing to frontier fields such as multi-field coupling, in-situ characterization, and digital twin simulation. In his report 'Non-destructive Characterization and Mechanical Property Evaluation of Ti-6Al-4V Fabricated by Laser Powder Bed Fusion,' Senior Engineer Gao Xiangxi from AECC Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials indicated that X-ray CT imaging can effectively achieve non-destructive characterization of three-dimensional defect features. The SLM process results in columnar grains approximately parallel to the build direction, and different heat treatment regimes can significantly alter the microstructure morphology and tensile properties, providing crucial data support for the reliable application of additively manufactured titanium alloys. The forum aimed to respond to new demands in industrial development and promote the high-quality advancement of material testing technologies.
