The Proof-of-Concept Center for Flow and Heat Transfer Technology, with the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Jiaxing Research Institute as the implementing body, plans to lease factory space in Wangdian Town, Xiuzhou District, to build the first niobium alloy additive manufacturing production line, and released industrial park investment promotion information on October 18, 2026. The team has already sent samples for testing to the LandSpace Jiaxing Intelligent Manufacturing Base, with a target output value exceeding 10 million yuan over the next five years. The project uses a cold shaping, low-energy-consumption technical route to prepare high-value niobium alloy powder. The material offers high-temperature resistance, yield resistance, and corrosion resistance, with energy consumption reduced by approximately 90% and total cost reduced by approximately 60% compared with conventional processes. The team previously incubated a titanium alloy green 3D printing project in 2023 and brought it into production; through self-developed cold shaping technology, it achieved recycling of titanium alloy particle waste and titanium chip material, validating the feasibility of the process from proof of concept to pilot-scale maturation to industrial implementation. Niobium alloy and titanium alloy powders involve dust explosion protection, so the factory building must be equipped with fire compartments, explosion venting area, and dust removal systems in accordance with regulations. The implementation of the first niobium alloy production line means that domestic refractory metal additive manufacturing is advancing from the laboratory sample stage toward stable batch supply, and it also provides a new material source for aerospace high-temperature components. For powder buyers, the value is: (1) Monitor the progress of sample testing for niobium alloy powder and engage early with the SUSTech Jiaxing Research Institute team to secure first-batch supply; (2) Evaluate the cost advantages of the cold shaping powder production process in titanium alloy waste recycling and incorporate it into cost-reduction procurement plans; (3) If selecting materials for aerospace high-temperature parts, include niobium alloy as an alternative and validate it in sync with the LandSpace supply chain.
