According to an October 7 report by Inner Mongolia Daily, the autonomous region science and technology leading talent project "Low-Cost Titanium Alloy Complex Structural Component Powder Filling Technology Research," undertaken by North Heavy Industries Group, passed acceptance by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Department, with a comprehensive performance evaluation of excellent. The project was initiated in 2022 and lasted four years. Aimed at complex structural components for high-end equipment, the project conducted research on titanium alloy powder composition optimization, billet preparation, complex structural component filling, and large-scale filling technology, successfully achieving titanium alloy powder filling of closed cavities and powder consolidation, obtaining near-net-shape titanium alloy component blanks, and completing large-scale titanium alloy powder filling trial production for a 36,000-ton extruder. This technology can reduce component costs by more than 30% and offers advantages such as high performance, low energy consumption, and a short process flow. Value to powder buyers: The integrated "consolidation-forming" technology route for large-size titanium alloy powders is maturing, and demand for filling-grade titanium alloy powders for large-scale titanium alloy parts in aerospace, shipbuilding, and weaponry sectors is expected to expand, presenting an incremental window for domestic titanium powder enterprises to enter the high-end equipment supply chain.
