On September 18, the Data Bureau of Hailing District, Taizhou City approved the filing of an enterprise investment project (Taihai Shu Bei [2026] No. 843, project code 2609-321202-89-01-826455): the Sliding Bearing Material Additive Manufacturing R&D and Production Project. Additive manufacturing of sliding bearing materials refers to copper-based/tin-based bearing alloy powders and additive repair processes, representing a new downstream application point for powder metallurgy—the bearing industry has traditionally relied on powder metallurgy sintering processes, and the entry of additive manufacturing signifies an upgrade in the demand for spherical copper alloy powders and tin bronze powders in this field. Value for powder purchasers: ① Additive manufacturing bearing materials open up an incremental market for copper-based alloy powders in the industrial friction pair sector; ② The project is still in the early filing stage, allowing early tracking of its equipment selection and powder grade requirements; ③ Once bearing additive repair processes mature, they will drive after-sales service-oriented procurement of wear-resistant alloy powders.
