Italian precious metals group Legor has entered into a strategic partnership with Israel-based Tritone to integrate the latter's patented MoldJet technology into Legor's 3D Metal Hub additive manufacturing center, adding new 3D printing capabilities for gold and platinum. The MoldJet technology follows a "powder-free" approach: it jets polymer molds layer by layer, fills them with metal paste, and then sinters the final parts, generating no loose metal powder during production—thus eliminating the recovery challenges and dust safety risks inherent in handling precious metal powders. Legor has specifically developed and validated gold and platinum paste formulations, targeting the high-end jewelry, watchmaking, and luxury goods sectors. Previously equipped with an HP Metal Jet system for steel, silver, and bronze, the 3D Metal Hub now offers full-cycle manufacturing capabilities from rapid prototyping to high-volume production.
