On November 6, 2026, Xihe Additive Manufacturing released progress in copper additive manufacturing technology. Relying on green lasers independently developed by Gongda Laser, the company achieved stable forming of copper components, with sample relative density reaching over 99.95%, electrical conductivity reaching 100% IACS, and thermal conductivity reaching 400 W/(m·K). Copper absorbs only about 5% of conventional 1064 nm near-infrared fiber laser light, with roughly 95% of the incident energy reflected. The strong reflected light returns along the optical path, imposing additional thermal load on optical components such as galvanometer scanners and protective lenses, and the melting parameter window is narrow. In contrast, 532 nm green laser light can achieve copper absorption of about 40%, roughly eight times that of near-infrared lasers. Simulation results show that the melt pool formed by green laser light is approximately 122-148 μm wide and 38-52 μm deep, enabling effective fusion between the powder layer and the substrate and achieving high relative density across a broad combination of power and scanning speed. Xihe Additive Manufacturing is carrying out copper material process development and application validation based on green laser additive manufacturing technology. The printed samples maintain copper's electrical and thermal conductivity while retaining high density. Targeting applications such as liquid-cooling heat dissipation for AI chips, thermal management for high-speed optical modules, and high-performance heat exchangers, the company is advancing the coordinated application of green laser equipment and copper material processes.
