On October 22, the Global Additive Manufacturing Summit (GAMS) in Singapore announced two five-year collaborations. The A*STAR Additive Innovation Centre signed an MOU with Antaisheng Global, Forefront AM, and Gaode Precision to provide end-to-end additive services for semiconductors, aerospace, and medical technology. Meanwhile, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre (NAMIC) renewed its five-year partnership with ASTM International to advance standards, testing, and qualification for materials, processes, and products, including rapid qualification and a material data-sharing mechanism. Singapore is accelerating its position as Southeast Asia's additive manufacturing hub through a combined approach of 'standards + certification + industry collaboration'; certification mutual recognition for powder trade in the Asia-Pacific region will become smoother, and the rise of semiconductor-grade additive services is creating segmented demand for high-purity copper powder and specialty alloy powders. Value for powder buyers: ① Monitor progress on powder standards and rapid qualification under the ASTM–NAMIC collaboration to align in advance with Southeast Asian customers' procurement specifications; ② The rise of semiconductor-grade additive manufacturing brings segmented demand for high-purity copper powder and specialty alloy powders—domestic powder manufacturers can use Singapore as a node to enter Southeast Asian markets; ③ The regional material data-sharing mechanism benefits powder suppliers with complete testing data.
