On September 30, 2026, Metal Powder Works Limited (ASX: MPW), an Australian ASX-listed metal powder producer, announced a two-year long-term sales agreement with Embassy Powdered Metals Inc. Under the agreement, MPW will supply pure copper powder to Embassy for the copper infiltration process in the press-and-sinter powder metallurgy market. The deal is valued at approximately $300,000 per year (about $600,000 over two years), with deliveries starting in January 2027. This is MPW's first long-term sales agreement. Embassy is one of the leading producers in the U.S. copper-based powder sector. Copper infiltration is a classic densification process for press-and-sinter ferrous parts, and the demand for pure copper powder represents a stable, high-volume consumption segment in the powder metallurgy industry. The agreement marks MPW's industrial powder business shifting from spot/short-term orders to a long-term contract model and its first entry into the North American press-and-sinter supply chain. Value for powder buyers: The press-and-sinter route is one of the largest consumption pools for copper powder outside additive manufacturing. The long-term contract structure reflects growing downstream demand for supply stability and price locking for copper powder. Attention should be paid to the impact of overseas copper powder capacity ramp-up on the export landscape for domestic spherical copper powder, as well as the synergies and diversion at the raw material level with high-purity spherical copper powder for additive manufacturing (green light printing route).
