On September 21, 2026, the Longyan Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued a public notice of its proposed approval opinion: the cemented carbide powder materials production line project of Fujian Qipan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. has entered the stage of proposed environmental impact assessment approval. The construction site is located at No. 3-3, Gongye 2nd Road, Lianfeng Town, Liancheng County (Fujian Liancheng Industrial Park), with a public notice period from September 22 to September 29, 2026. The project leases an existing idle factory building and plans production areas for batching, boat loading and pressing, gas milling, ball milling, vacuum carbonization, and nitrogen generation. Once completed, it will produce 240 tons per year of cemented carbide powder materials. The environmental impact assessment was previously accepted on September 8. Cemented carbide powder (WC-Co system) is a core raw material for wear-resistant tools such as cutting tools and mining drill bits. China's cemented carbide industry cluster is extending along the tungsten resource belt toward western Fujian and Jiangxi. The landing of the new production line in Liancheng Industrial Park will strengthen the powder segment supply of Fujian's tungsten industry chain. Value for powder buyers: ① The 240 tons/year cemented carbide powder capacity supplements regional supply; attention should be paid to its procurement of tungsten carbide powder and cobalt powder raw materials and product quality benchmarking. ② The project adopts a vacuum carbonization process, creating cooperation opportunities for suppliers of ultrafine tungsten carbide powder and spherical cobalt powder. ③ It is recommended to track its subsequent environmental impact assessment approval and equipment bidding milestones to assess the pace of capacity release.
