The Nordic Additive Manufacturing Alliance has organized a joint Nordic pavilion that will be showcased collectively at Formnext 2026, taking place in Frankfurt from November 17 to 20, 2026. The pavilion will present additive manufacturing companies and research institutions from Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark grouped by country. Exhibitors include Delva, VTT, Outokumpu, Fieldnode, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, DeskArtes, and Create it REAL. This year's event is expected to attract more than 800 exhibitors and 38,000 visitors. The alliance will use the pavilion to promote cross-border Nordic cooperation aimed at strengthening industrial competitiveness and supply security. A panel discussion will also be held during Formnext, featuring representatives from Finland and Denmark alongside Vincenzo Belletti, EU Public Affairs Director at CECIMO, and an industry representative. The alliance was jointly initiated by the Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem (FAME), RISE, the Norwegian Additive Manufacturing Cluster, and Danish AM Hub. It integrates regional industrial, research, and manufacturing resources with the goals of enhancing international competitiveness, accelerating the adoption of new technologies in industrial production, and unlocking cross-border collaboration and business opportunities. Eetu Holstein, head of the FAME ecosystem at DIMECC Ltd, said the Nordic region has world-class expertise in additive manufacturing, and its true advantage lies in integrating these capabilities across borders, offering not only technology but also reliable partners and more resilient supply chains. For the metal additive manufacturing value chain, this initiative brings regional powder supply, materials development, and end-product manufacturing together on a single stage for matchmaking. Amid rising global supply chain uncertainty, manufacturers are accelerating efforts to map their supply chains, reduce vulnerability, seek alternative production methods, and find trusted partners closer to home. The joint Nordic pavilion provides exactly the setting for powder and materials suppliers to connect with regional buyers in a concentrated way. Value for powder buyers: (1) They can connect with regional materials and powder-related suppliers such as Outokumpu in a concentrated way at the Nordic joint pavilion at Formnext 2026, shortening the sourcing path; (2) They can use the alliance's cross-border collaboration network to assess the feasibility of localized Nordic powder supply as a supply chain backup; (3) They can follow the supply security signals from the event's panel discussion to secure trusted powder partners in advance.
