In March 2024, Anhui Polytechnic University and Fanchang District signed a university-local strategic cooperation agreement, advancing industry-academia-research collaboration through a '1+N+X' model. The two parties established an Additive Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center and an Industry College in Chungu Industrial Park. Faculty members are stationed on-site to tackle enterprise process challenges through open call mechanisms—for example, applying laser cladding to deposit wear-resistant alloy layers on steel pipes, systematically verifying key parameters such as power, powder feed rate, and preheating temperature to extend maintenance cycles. Partner enterprises have generated over 10 million yuan in new sales revenue, with total contracted R&D project value exceeding 10 million yuan. For the metal powder industry: laser cladding is a powder-consuming process (powder-fed cladding), and this on-site university-local research directly addresses the needs of enterprises in Chungu Industrial Park—one of East China's leading additive manufacturing clusters—providing a demonstration for process upgrading on the powder application side.
