Phase 3D has launched its next-generation Fringe Inspection hardware, designed specifically for laser powder bed fusion systems. The product, developed over several years, has evolved from assembling off-the-shelf components to a custom design geared toward volume production. At the core of the hardware is a projector customized for LPBF inspection, integrating an IPC, GPU, memory, and internal storage. A passive aluminum heat-dissipation housing consolidates projection, processing, and storage into a single integrated package. The product offers M12 connectors and four hardware trigger channels supporting 5–24 V signals, with optional software triggering and distance/light-sensor triggering. Structured light measures the build surface height layer by layer and outputs quantitative data. The move aims to meet manufacturers' needs for multi-machine deployment and OEM platform integration, providing a repeatably deployable foundation for capacity expansion.
