On November 6, the Guangzhou Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau issued a pre-approval public notice for the construction project design review and adjustment of the HeyGears 3D Printing Digital Smart Manufacturing Center project (Plot ZSCXN-B2-1, Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City; project owner Guangzhou Bangwei Technology). The notice period runs from November 6 to November 15. The project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan and a construction period of 24 months. It will assemble and produce 5,000 industrial-grade 3D printing units and 5,000 consumer-grade units per year. The project is currently in the main structure construction phase. HeyGears was founded in July 2015 and is headquartered in Guangzhou. It was established by seven young entrepreneurs born in the 1990s who left the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the United States to return to China and start the company. The founder and CEO is Gui Peiyan. The company is a full-stack high-end stereolithography 3D printing enterprise: it holds more than 60% market share in China's dental laboratory segment and ranks first in North America's dental 3D printing market, with overseas revenue accounting for more than 60% of its total. In May 2026, it completed a Series C funding round of more than 300 million yuan, led jointly by Legend Capital and Fortune Capital, with participation from Gopher Asset Management and CAS Investment. Cumulative R&D investment has exceeded 1 billion yuan, and the company holds 634 patents. Its product lines cover the dental UltraCraft series and the desktop Reflex series. The leading dental digitalization company is establishing a large-scale smart manufacturing base in Knowledge City, combined with a consumer-grade full-color product line layout, significantly upgrading 3D printing equipment capacity and industrial chain support in South China. Dental 3D printing is a recurring-revenue model based on equipment plus consumables. Equipment volume growth drives repeat purchases of metal powders (cobalt-chromium and titanium) and photosensitive resin consumables. Consumable supply is tied to equipment installation, making it a window for powder companies to enter the dental market.
