On November 2, China Daily Online published an observation on Xi'an's hard tech industry, disclosing the latest progress in the additive manufacturing sector: STAR Market-listed company BLT has obtained 738 patents cumulatively, with revenue in the first half of 2026 growing 15.46% year-on-year. The main structures of five factory buildings for its supporting additive manufacturing dedicated powder material production line have been topped out, building production capacity for large-scale mass production. The powder material line focuses mainly on titanium alloys and superalloys; the topping-out marks that line construction has entered the equipment installation and commissioning stage, and after mass production it will drive a substantial ramp-up of metal powder capacity in Northwest China. In the smart remanufacturing field disclosed in the same period, relying on the Xi'an Intelligent Remanufacturing Research Institute, the country's first provincial-level remanufacturing common technology innovation center, Shaanxi Tianyuan Intelligent Remanufacturing has deepened its work in metal composite additive manufacturing and equipment repair and remanufacturing. Together with Shaanxi Coal Group, Yan'an Energy and Chemical Industry Group, and Asia Potash International, it has jointly built three industrialization bases in northern Shaanxi, Yan'an, and Laos, with annual output value exceeding RMB 500 million, forming a closed loop of 'resources-products-remanufacturing-high-end manufacturing.' Remanufacturing scenarios are dominated by laser cladding and composite additive processes, directly driving regional order demand for nickel-based and iron-based cladding powders; after BLT's self-developed powders enter mass production, they will create supporting demand for upstream master alloys and testing equipment. Xi'an's hard tech cluster policy continues to invest, and powder suppliers can access supporting testing and certification services and opportunities for entry into the military industry system. The topping-out of BLT's powder production line buildings, combined with the expansion of Xi'an's remanufacturing cluster, is raising both Northwest China's metal powder self-supply capability and demand for cladding powders, a window signal for powder suppliers to deploy capacity in the Northwest and position themselves in the military industry system.
