The Sheyang County Ecological Environment Bureau issued a public notice on November 2, 2026, proposing to approve the environmental impact report for Ruijiang Technology (Yancheng) Co., Ltd.'s project to produce 300,000 orthopedic implants per year. The public comment period runs through November 6. The project is located in Workshop No. 7 of the Health Incubation Park in the Jiangsu Sheyang Port Economic Development Zone and will install electron beam selective melting and laser selective melting equipment, among others. The environmental assessment firm is Jiangsu Zekai Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. The closed-loop dust control in the project's metal 3D printing process is noteworthy: the build chamber operates under sealed negative pressure; metal dust is captured by an integrated recovery unit and screened for reuse; powder that cannot be reused enters a sealed silicone oil passivation system; and atomization and sedimentation recovery are fully enclosed. As powder bed fusion installations for orthopedic implants continue to expand, they will directly drive steady consumption of medical titanium alloy and cobalt-chromium alloy powders. The implementation of dust control requirements in environmental assessments also shows that regulators are paying increasing attention to metal powder handling safety, making compliance capability one of the downstream competitive factors for powder and equipment suppliers.
